Sumi in Japanese has many meanings, but when used as a name it means: elegant, refined, beautiful. A Sumi-tsubo is a traditional Japanese woodworking scribe line tool.

SUMI

Inspired by Taku Sakashta and Jersey Girl Homemade Guitars, I decided to offer my unique take on the singlecut guitar. This includes a thinner body, slender body waist, my Millennium inlays, and a headstock silhouette which echoes those of bowed instruments.

Featuring a 25” scale length, birdseye sapele body & neck, exotic top, BRW fingerboard & headstock overlay, jumbo frets, Italian celluloid inlays, the SUMI feels amazing in-hand. It’s a very alive, easy playing, solid feeling instrument, with incredible articulation and sustain.

The Sumi comes standard with ThroBak pickups. The base price Sumi features features a one-piece mahogany body carve top.
